Planning watch: the gasworks site, and a thank-you to the path volunteers

Planning watch

The application for the gasworks site (ref 2026/0148) is now in front of the committee. Our objection is narrow and evidential: the submitted plans leave the lane between the site and the school with no pavement on the east side, which the county's own 2019 design guidance requires.

You can read the application at the library or online, and comment until 6 June. If you would like the society to make a representation, write back to this address.

Thank you

Twenty-two members turned out for the April working morning — the most since we started keeping count. The new steps at the north gate are theirs.

Dues

A reminder that the 2026 dues are due on 1 June.

— Margaret Ellis, Chair
